Day 13

18th September

One day seems pretty much like another, or another-day-another-part-of ‘the queue’.

The Independent is criticising Truss for abandoning the UK agreement reached in Glasgow. It’s full steam ahead with fracking and new oil licenses.

Headed to ASDA for breakfast. Yet again a bit of creative accounting when it comes to the bill. I think Greggs will be on the cards for a few future breakfasts. Cost wise they beet everyone else for deals.

ASDA is closing for the funeral but will reopen at five o’clock.

Weather looks good tomorrow, so will head out on the bike in the morning.

The back garden has gone from semi-wild (planned) to a bit on the wild side. Need to give some serious thought to what-to-do once the growing season is over.

Switched the news on then off. There was a feature on the importance of the Queen’s headscarves.

Picked up my converted e-bike.

Harry and Meghan have been uninvited to a reception of world leaders. ‘On no they have not’, says a palace spokesperson, ‘they were never invited in the first place’.

Why do dog owners leave bags of shit along the cycle path? Or worse, hanging from the branches of trees.

At least they seem to have stopped setting fire to the benches along the trail. When I say they, I don’t mean dog walkers or dog owners. I doubt if there are pyromaniac animal lovers stalking the woods. They, whoever they are, seemed to go through a phase over the summer of setting fire to the benches-made-of-sleepers along the path.

The council also put in picnic tables, but some of these melted when they were used for a barbecue. Again, when I say they I don’t mean barbecued dog lovers.

There was a national one minute silence at eight o’clock tonight. Oops, I forgot. Which was strange really, as I had BBC One on ready to watch the second episode of Frozen Planet II. I was on the phone to a friend and had the volume down, so maybe that’s why it didn’t register. ASDA are selling the book that accompanies the series for fourteen pounds. Big saving on the cover price of twenty something.

Tonight was quite gruesome.

Killer whales eating the tongues of other whales.

Polar bears eating walruses, as well as attempting to eat younger bears.

Polar bears eating seals.

Well, at least it makes a change from the royal funeral and the stories coming from the queue. Bet you Attenborough would have found something bloody to film there.
