Day 28

3rd October (Day 28)

7am.

The government is not for turning.

7.30am.

There is a rumour that the government will reverse its 45% tax policy.

8.00am.

The government has announced it will not push through with its 45% tax plans.

I’m sure that must be the fastest reverse in policy ever.

KkK was on the radio still blaming the war in Ukraine. Nick Robinson really got stuck into him. Toe curling or what.

But at least KkK and Liz have got their combined act together and said they both had reached this decision (for the past couple of days they have been blaming each other).

Incompetent or what.

No milk delivery this morning. Got an email saying they were running late because of unforeseen problems (it’s either staff sickness – Covid on the rise again – or they are going bust – how does milk delivery pay these days?).

You do wonder whether Britain is turning into a failed state.

The King and the Queen Consort are in Dunfermline for some reason. Why does the dog whimper and hide in the corner when Charles starts to speak? I’m going to start throwing pens and we will see if the dog runs for them (in the rain). And in case you are wondering what the dog’s name is, it’s simply Dog.

The family three doors down have a Lasso Appso called Lucy. It (she, I assume) always has a pink ribbon on her collar when I see her being walked. ‘We always wanted a girl’, said Jane. They have four boys. ‘No luck, so Lucy is my own special little girl. Look at you Lucy. Whose a lovely girl.’ And she picks the dog up and cuddles her. Awwwwww. I’ll need to be careful when reversing. A flattened Lucy would not do much for neighbourly relations.

Ear wax removal on Friday at Specsavers, so I have been putting olive oil in both ears. Fifty five pounds and worth every penny (this is not being sponsored, honest. Kim Kardashian has been fined for fairing to declare that she was being paid for a product she referred to on her blog.)

More news items about food banks and how they are struggling. And now we are being told that we might run out of gas over the winter.

At least with Boris you could have a laugh.

Still thinking about buying that new camera. Do I need it? That’s not the point. Can I afford it? That’s not the point. Do I want it? Yes. Maybe the gas subsidy and tax cut will pay for it. The BBC do a ready reckoner around tax savings. I might check that out and do my bit to support trickle down economics. Okay, so it’s a Japanese product. There must be someone somewhere over there who will benefit from my purchase,
