Facebook

Usually the estate Facebook page is all quite mundane. Residents selling or giving away stuff, asking for advice about home repairs or upgrades, or complaints about parking spaces and bin collections.

‘Would the fucking moron who parked in our parking space move their shitty car.’

It’s normally mainly quite civilised, unlike the neighbouring village where there’s a current spat about planning permission and statements describing Labour and Conservative councillors as corrupt scum. There are of course no corrupt SNP or Green councillors (the police obviously invited Peter Murrell in for a coffee and a social chat). But, let’s not get political.

Now and again the page jumps into a life that is a little bit longer than those one off declarations of war.

Theresa x. Noticed 2 teens wandering around. One carrying a boulder seems like he was threatening his friend and he was weaving in and out gardens to avoid him. Really not keen on damage being done with things being thrown around.

Jeremy y. These guys were down the back of mines about 1.30 standing around and smoking…..not sure what they were up to. There was a third one for a while too…..they never done anything tbh, just an unusual spot to hang around as the road is closed off that end.

Liz z. Saw three of them hanging round the estate looking in a blue bin yesterday. I can confirm they ain’t from the council houses either.

Kier w. They were hanging about my fence then saw me watching them from upstairs and they moved on down past the play park. They were screaming at each other so loudly that 100m away it still drew my attention through double glazing. I have seen them about a few times usually three of them. Maybe we should get some neighbourhood watch signs as a deterrent.

Boris v. That’s our house with the Mercedes, they came right up to our front door and straight over our grass and looking through the window. The boy without the hood picked up a brick from the 2 pallets and walked back out the street!

Rish u. Seen them earlier at lunch time but there was 3 of them. They were on our drive around the car/front door, jumping about our garden then right up at the living room window! They were shouting at each other, wondered over to the site fence and headed back down the street. Hope nothing comes of it!

David t. Someone’s been setting fire to the rubbish on the track and I wouldn’t be surprised if it were them.

Alan s. Given everything that’s kicking off on the estate I know a company who can install CCTV. Really good reputation. Great price, excellent product. Drop me a line.

Well that’s what happens when I’m late home from work, the nephews are left hanging round the estate and can’t get into the house.
